Providing a Vital Business Climate

When it's time to move or expand your business, finding the right location is a top priority. You want an affordable and appealing location that contains the services, work force and resources that will successfully take your business into the future. That's why you should consider Greene County. We have a growing, vibrant economy to support your business.

Greene County offers a comprehensive incentive package to businesses that are considering a relocation or expansion. Industries can choose from more than 200 acres of industrial sites in the Greene County Industrial Park located along Georgia Highway 44 and one mile south of Interstate 20. Businesses have access to competitively priced electricity and natural gas as well as ample water supplies. Telecommunications facilities include digital switching, fiber optic networks, cellular service and connections to major long distance carriers. Freeport exemptions exist throughout the area.

A prepared workforce is essential to any business. The Greene County labor market includes more than 6,000 people who are eager, highly productive employees willing to make your business a success. And Georgia's Quick Start program offers employee recruitment, screening and training to save you time and money in getting your business up and running.

Greene County's vast transportation network makes it possible for you to move raw materials and finished goods cost effectively and efficiently. Commercial air service is available through Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport as well as Athens and Augusta. From Industrial Park, Greene County also offers a regional airport that is only minutes away. Ground transportation is available through Interstate 20 which is located only three miles from the Greene County Industrial Park and runs directly into Atlanta and Augusta. U.S. Highway 278 and Georgia Highway 44 are also nearby. Rail needs are fulfilled by CSX which has intermodel terminals throughout the state. You'll also have access to deep water ports in Savannah. These transportation options provide easy access to Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, Florida and other regional and national markets.
Greene County invites you to plant your business where you have the resources to grow. Hundreds of businesses ranging from manufacturing, transportation, construction and retail have already found success in Greene County. A strong local leadership made up of chambers and city and county governments work hard to help businesses get started and stay competitive and productive. Contact the Greene County Chamber of Commerce and we'll introduce you to our area.
"We chose Greene County because of its close proximity to Atlanta. We made a good decision. Our business has been successful, our employees enjoy living in the area, and we've enjoyed working with the community and government officials."
