Greensboro, Georgia, April 27, 2023-- Athens Orthopedic Clinic (AOC)

AOC hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the

building site of their new Greensboro clinical offices on Lake Country

Drive, beside Singleton Marine on Hwy 44. The public was invited.

The new 23,600 sq. ft. facility will include space for office visits as well

as onsite physical therapy and hand therapy.

“This much larger and modern facility will allow us to deliver better

patient care,” says Dr. Stephen Johnson, DO, one of three orthopedic

surgeons who see patients in the current AOC office on Cowles Clinic

Way in Greensboro.

“Athens Orthopedic Clinic is pleased to be expanding our footprint in

Greene County,” says Kayo Elliott, AOC chief executive officer. “The

additional space will allow us to provide high quality orthopedic care to

more patients and provide room to expand our services. We look

forward to providing a superior patient experience to all our patients for

years to come.”

The new AOC facility is expected to open in early 2024 and is part of an

undeveloped 18-acre commercial tract that includes 5 acres of road

frontage. Several tracts are still available for purchase. For more

information on the land, please contact Tim Rogers 404-307-6633 or

Pam Walker 864-630-7889 at Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty.

“We thank Greensboro residents for your support over the years and

look forward to serving you in our new location,” says Dr. Johnson.

“The Chamber would like to thank the following businesses that

attended the groundbreaking: Banksouth, Berkshire Hathaway, Oconee

Radio Group, Smith Communications, and Brock Company Creative,”

says Mika Mills, GCCOC President.
