Union Point - This town developed from a railroad junction in 1834. In the late 1800's a hosiery mill and other industries located here. The town is known for its fine Victorian residential and commercial structures. Note the polygonal flower houses in some yards. Union Point is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Artists, Anne Jenkins and Lee Nelson who have relocated here from New Orleans, Louisiana bring fine art, business seminars and loft dwellings to Union Point.
  
   
Originally the Ace Hardware building on Highway 278 will become the future home of our Community Service Facility for both the fire and police departments.
"Renovation" of the downtown store buildings begins in the spring and summer months of 2006.
We are proud to boast that we have five new small business industries that have located here to Union Point over the past 9 months.
The Greene County Fair is moving to Union Point, spring 2007 - The Greene County Fair has long been a source of enjoyment for both locals and visitors alike.
The Union Junction Jamboree, which will be held on October 6, 2007, will serve this year to showcase our beautiful historical town and all the wonderful happenings both today and to come in Union Point, Georgia.

In addition to all the wonderful excitement that continuously surrounds our town today, it just couldn't go without saying how extremely proud of our two schools that for many years Union Point has been a home for.

Union Point Elementary School (grades K-6), one of the finest in our county is located right here in Union Point.

Our pre elementary school children are getting the absolute best start they can at The Greene County Preschool.

Both of these schools bring an excellent source of education to our community.
